The Omaha Lancers concluded the 2026 preseason Friday night in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Lancers completed their home-and-home stand with their archrival Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box, where the Lancers avenged their 5-4 loss Thursday night after rallying past the Stars in a 4-3 shootout victory Friday night.

The Lancers were resilient Thursday night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena. After going down 3-1 at the end of the second period, forward Rylan Bydal and the Lancers went down swinging in the third. Bydal amassed 3 points (2+1) in the third period alone for the Lancers, before being edged out by the Stars by the score of 5-4.

Friday night, the Lancers and Stars went to a shootout at the Ice Box, where Matty Lynn did it again with another shootout game-winner to both begin the preseason, and now conclude it... The Lancers also got another multi-point performance from second-year forward Tommy Spencer, who grabbed a goal and an assist to cap off a 5-point (3+2) preseason for the Sylvania, Ohio native.

The Lancers begin the regular season a week from Saturday with their two-game Fall Classic series at the brand-new USG Arena in Chicago, Illinois. There, the Lancers will take on the Chicago Steel at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Sunday afternoon matchup with the Madison Capitols at 3:30 p.m.
