FOGARTY ANNOUNCES 2026-27 CAPTAINS

Head coach Ron Fogarty announced Monday the 2026-27 Omaha Lancers' leadership group. Charlie Vig returns as team captain and is joined in the leadership group by Cam Caron, Reese Lantz, Tanner Morgan and Ryder Reynolds.

"We have a group of players that do a great job of leading both on and off the ice," Fogarty said. "They embody the team's values and set the standard for our culture, work ethic and accountability every day."

Vig, 19, showcased his leadership in his second season with Omaha by finishing tied for the best plus-minus (+9), the second-most points (32), tied for the second-most games played (59), tied for the third-most power-play goals (3) and was tied for the fifth-most goals (11). He recorded two multi-goal games, with the first coming Jan. 10 at Waterloo and the second as part of a season-high 3-point night (2+1) vs. Lincoln Mar. 15. The Bismarck, N.D. native concluded the season with 9 points (4+5) over his final seven games to help the Lancers go 5-1-0-1 over that stretch. Vig played in 28 games for the Lancers in the 2024-25 season, recording 4 points (3+1). He made his Lancers' debut Jan. 17 and scored his first USHL goal Feb. 21 at Tri-City. He is committed to play Division I college hockey at Bemidji State.

Caron, 19, led all Lancers with 61 games played in 2025-26. He ended the season on a four-game point streak (1+3) and with 6 points (3+3) over his final seven games. The Dracut, Mass. native recorded his first career USHL multi-goal game Mar. 15 vs. Lincoln when he tallied two goals 3:59 apart in the third period. The second goal came with 16 seconds left in regulation and forced overtime. He spent the majority of the 2024-25 season with the Surrey Eagles in the British Columbia Hockey League. Caron recorded 32 points (12+20) in 41 games before adding three assists in five playoff games. He is committed to play Division I college hockey at Northeastern.

Lantz, 19, led Omaha blueliners with 23 points, 19 assists, 9 power-play assists and 1 power-play goal last season while tying for the most goals with 3. He was nearly a point-per-game player from Jan. 24 to Mar. 27, picking up 17 points (3+14) over 21 games with three multi-point games in that span. The Hartland, Wis. native scored his first goal as a Lancer Feb. 13 vs. Sioux Falls. He earned the USHL's Defenseman of the Week honor Mar. 23 after combining to score a goal and add 4 assists in a pair of wins over the United States National Team Development Program's U17 team Mar. 20-21. He won the Clark Cup in 2025 with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and was traded to the Lancers last November.

Morgan, 20, has skated in 110 games over the last two campaigns and combined to record 45 points (18+27), both figures the most of any Lancer in that span. Last season, Morgan recorded seven multi-point games and ended the season on a nine-game point streak, recording 11 points (3+8) in that span. He scored the shootout-winning goal Jan. 9 vs. Cedar Rapids and his first career shorthanded goal Mar. 14 vs. Tri-City. The Madison, Ala. native finished tied for second on the Lancers in power-play assists (6), third in assists (22) and fourth in points (31). Morgan recorded his first USHL multi-goal game Mar. 8, 2025 in a 4-3 overtime win vs. Tri-City. Those two goals came amidst a four-game goal-scoring streak in which he lit the lamp five times. Morgan tied for the 2024-25 team lead with four power-play goals and earned the Lancers' Mike Hastings Rookie of the Year award. He is committed to play Division I college hockey at Army.

Reynolds, 18, has spent parts of the last three seasons with the Lancers. He made his USHL debut with his hometown team Nov. 9, 2023, vs. Sioux City. The Omaha native skated in 46 games last season, his most in a USHL campaign so far. He scored his first USHL goal Dec. 12, 2025, at Youngstown. It was also his first of three goals over a six-game stretch. The Lancers won all three of those games that Reynolds scored in. He tied the game with 45 seconds remaining in regulation Dec. 27 vs. Lincoln and scored the overtime winner Jan. 3 at Sioux Falls. Reynolds spent the majority of the 2024-25 season with the Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League. He recorded 4 assists in 38 games before skating in three Robertson Cup playoff games.

The Lancers begin the 2026-27 season Sept. 19-20 with the USHL Fall Classic in Chicago. The Lancers' home opener is Sept. 25 when they face the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:05 p.m. at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
