WEEKEND PREVIEW: OCT. 30-31

OMAHA @ LINCOLN  Friday, Oct. 30, 7:05 p.m. CDT  Ice Box

OMAHA vs. LINCOLN  Saturday, Oct. 31, 7:30 p.m. CDT  Liberty First Credit Union Arena

Last Weekend: The Lancers were a part of two different shutouts, splitting the two games... Omaha silenced Sioux Falls, 6-0, on the road on Oct. 23 before being shut out, 3-0, vs. Tri-City the next day at home... Five different Lancers scored last Friday The Lancers enter this weekend seeking their first home victory after opening the campaign 0-3-1-0 at Liberty First Credit Union Arena...

The Lancers (3-6-1-0)
: Are 124-90-11-7 all-time in regular-season action against the Lincoln Stars… Went 3-2-2-1 last season against the Stars… Scored three goals or more in five of their last six matchups with Lincoln… Lefty Markonidis registered a hat-trick in the Lancers' final game of the season back in April against his former team… Markonidis was the ninth Lancer all-time to record a hat-trick against the Lincoln Stars… The Lancers are one of three teams in the league that have yet to score an empty-net goal… Conversely, the Lincoln Stars have given up more empty-net goals than anyone in the league, with 5… The Lancers have committed just three tripping infractions so far this season, tying them for fewest in the league with the Chicago Steel…

The Stars (4-6-1-0): Split last weekend's pair of games against Muskegon; winning, 3-0, before falling, 4-0... Have scored just 4 second-period goals so far this season, the fewest in the league… Have committed 13 slashing penalties this season, tied for most in the USHL with the Green Bay Gamblers… Have scored three or more goals in 14 of their last 16 meetings with the Lancers dating back to Nov. 2, 2024… Have surrendered 34 shorthanded goals all-time to the Lancers… Have defeated Omaha only five times when the Lancers have scored a shorty; however, the Stars have won the last two times the Lancers have scored while a man down… The Lancers and Stars have had fighting majors in 42-percent of their all-time meetings…

Lancers Seeking Consistency: The Lancers are coming off a weekend split after dismantling the defending Clark Cup Champion Sioux Falls Stampede 6-0 Friday night, but would then go on to be shut out themselves on home ice to the Tri-City Storm Saturday… The Tri-City Storm have defeated Omaha all three times they've met over the last two weeks, thanks in part to Tri-City's back-checking abilities against the Lancers' lane-filling approach to their offensive rush, limiting the Lancers from having too many 'grade A' scoring opportunities… The Lancers and Stars are just two of three teams in the league that haven't won back-to-back games yet this season…

Lancers To Watch: Forward Rylan Bydal netted two markers last Friday night in their 6-0 win over the Stampede… The only other goal from Bydal came back in September at the Fall Classic in their win against the Madison Capitols… Forward Artem Prima has 4 points (1+3) over the last three games… The Utah Mammoth draft pick racked up 4 points (1+3) against the Lincoln Stars last season

Stars To Watch: Jackson Rudh is tied for a team-leading 9 points (5+4) through 11 games played… The St. Cloud State commit was held to just one assist in his 8 meetings with Omaha all of last season… Defenseman Griffin Brown is now in his fourth season with the Stars… Brown has 1 goal and two assists in his career against the Lancers…

This Date In Lancers History (Oct. 30): L.A. Ross led Omaha to a 6-3 win over Waterloo in 1994 after scoring two goals just 13 seconds apart in the second period... After overcoming the loss of their star forward Brian Swanson the previous week due to a knee injury, Ross helped fill some of that void... "It felt good to get a couple of quick ones," Ross told the World-Herald. "We all know that we need to pick up the scoring slack with Brian not being out there in the weeks to come." The win took place in front of the 121st consecutive sellout crowd at Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum...
