The Omaha Lancers opened up the 2026-27 preseason this weekend with a 2-1 shootout win over the Sioux City Musketeers on the road Friday night, followed by a 6-4 win over the Musketeers the following night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena. The Lancers then completed the weekend sweep after putting away the Des Moines Buccaneers Sunday evening by the score of 5-3.

The Lancers prevailed in a shootout in their first preseason outing thanks to forward Matthew Lynn capping off a thriller in Sioux City, Iowa.

Saturday night, the Lancers racked up 4 unanswered tallies in the middle frame after Sioux City had jumped out on Omaha with a 3-0 advantage. Each of the Lancers' two goal splits in the second period came just seconds apart from one another.
Jack Stanius led the way with two goals and a helper to propel Omaha to a 6-4 victory over the Muskies Saturday night.

Tommy Spencer, who grabbed a pair of goals late in the third period to help ice the game. For good measure,
Ryan Aaronson amassed a goal and an assist, and rookie skater Edgar Viskantas grabbed a pair of helpers Sunday as well.

The Lancers host their final preseason game Thursday night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena against the Lincoln Stars. Puck drop is set at 6:05 p.m. at the community rink. Admission is free for all fans to come see the Lancers take on their arch rival. Omaha concludes the preseason Friday night at 7:05 in Lincoln.
