SCIERE EARNS GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK HONOR AGAIN

Omaha Lancers goaltender Anthony Sciere has been named the USHL Goaltender of the Week for the second straight week after his work Oct. 30-31 vs. the Lincoln Stars.

Sciere, 19, recorded a 3.01 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in a pair of wins over the Lancers' biggest rival. He stopped 38-of-40 shots Oct. 30 in a 3-2 victory at Lincoln for his second-most saves in a start this season. Sciere followed it up with 23 saves on 27 shots in Omaha's 6-4 win Halloween night to earn back-to-back victories between the pipes for the first time this season.

The Pittsburgh, Penn. native has thrived as the Lancers' regular netminder this season. He has appeared in each of the last eight games and started each of the last six. Sciere is 4-2-1-0 with a 2.21 GAA and a .932 SV% over his last seven games.

Sciere has played the third-most minutes of any USHL goaltender (584), recorded the second-most saves (278), posted the fifth-best save percentage (.917) and recorded the eighth-best goals-against average (2.57).

This is the first time that a Lancers goaltender has won this USHL honor twice in the same season since Zach Driscoll was named Goaltender of the Week four times during the 2017-18 season. Last week, Sciere became the first Lancer netminder to earn it since Michael Hrabal received it Mar. 27, 2023.

The Lancers are on the road to face the Tri-City Storm on Friday and the Sioux City Musketeers on Saturday. Fans can watch or listen to both games on the Omaha Lancers Hockey Network via FloHockey or Mixlr.
