STAMPEDE HOLD OFF LANCERS

OMAHA, NE- The Omaha Lancers opened the week Thursday Night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Just under two minutes into the game Sioux Falls would jump out on Omaha early with a Ritter Coombs marker to make it 1-0 'Herd. Just 8 second later, forward Javon Moore cashed in to extend the lead at 2-0. However, mid-way through the first, forward David Hruby of the Lancers scored on a slight breakaway to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. Minutes later, forward Brady Arneson tallied for Omaha to knot up the game at two goals apiece going into the middle frame.

Just one goal would come in the second period with the lone tally coming off the stick of forward Joseph McGraw to make it a 3-2 Stampede lead going into the third.

The Lancers were unable to find the back of the cage in the third, allowing Sioux Falls to hold on and win it 3-2. The Lancers are back in action tomorrow night on home ice against the Tri-City Storm. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM CST.
