OMAHA FALLS TO U17s

PLYMOUTH, MI- The Lancers concluded the weekend road trip Saturday Night against the U- 17 club once again. In the first period, the U-17s picked up where they left off the previous night as forward JP Hurlbert cashed in to make it a 1-0 U.S. advantage. Minutes later, the Lancers would respond with defenseman Noah Jones getting on the board for Omaha to knot up the game at one goal apiece. Just seconds later, forward Caden Lee would tack on another for the Lancers to put Omaha up 2- 1 going into the second period of play.

In the second period it would be all U-17s. The scoring would start with forward Dayne Beuker of the U-17s to put them back at a 2-2 tie. Minutes later, forward Casey Mutryn would cash in another for the U-17s to put them up 3-2. Lukas Zajic would add two more for the U-17s just under three minutes apart to widen the lead for the U.S. at 5-2. However, the Lancers would answer with one of their own with just 29 seconds to go in the middle frame as forward Tanner Morgan would help cut the deficit to back within two. In the third period the Lancers would not be able to find the back of the cage. The U-17s would grab an empty netter thanks to forward Lukas Zajic-helping him complete the hat-trick and giving the Lancers a 6-3 loss.

The Lancers are back in action next Saturday Night on home ice against the Tri-City Storm. Puck drop will be at 6:05 PM CST. You can catch the game on Mixlr or FloSports with the voice of your Omaha Lancers Frank Zawrazky.
