LINCOLN, NE- The Omaha Lancers concluded their three-game weekend in Lincoln, Nebraska Saturday Night. The Lancers would look to bounce back from a tough loss the previous night against the Tri-City Storm.
In the first period, both teams would trade blows with one another until just over three minutes left in the frame when Lincoln forward Jack Pechar nets one on the rush to put the Stars up 1-0 going into the middle frame.
In the second period, the Stars and Lancers began to play a chippy brand of hockey. Though the standings and level of play greatly separate these two clubs, the hatred was still very much present between the two teams. Amidst the chippy play, the Lincoln Stars still manage to get on the board once again. And it would be forward Jack Pechar once again who would help stretch Lincoln's lead at 2-0 going into the third.
In the third, Jack Pechar and the Lincoln Stars would continue to press forward against the Lancers. Pechar would complete his hat-trick just under a minute into the third period to put the Stars up 3-0. Late in the period, defenseman Jacob Rombach would score an empty netter to cap off a 4-0 Stars win. The Lancers will go back on the road next Friday Night in Plymouth, Michigan to take on the U.S. National Development Program. Puck drop will be at 7:00 PM EST. You can catch the game on Mixlr with the voice of your Omaha Lancers Frank Zawrazky.
