LANCERS SILENCED BY WATERLOO IN 4-0 LOSS

Waterloo Capitalizes Off Of Lancer Turnovers in 4-0 Defeat.

OMAHA ,NE. - The Lancers played host to the Waterloo Black Hawks Friday night (12/15) at Liberty First Credit Union Arena. The Lancers had come off two heartbreaking losses last week while the 'Hawks had split their weekend last week with a loss to the Sioux City Musketeers; followed by a narrow win over the Des Moines Buccaneers.

The first period would go scoreless however, both teams would trade scoring chances throughout with both goaltenders standing tall in the opening frame.

The second period would begin with a continuation of a Lancer power-play. The Lancers would not score, but would get numerous opportunities throughout the man-advantage.

Waterloo would eventually get a power-play of their own-which would turn into a 5-on-3 after back-to-back Lancer penalties.

The Lancers would kill off the first penalty, but not the second; as Black Hawk forward Gavyn Thoreson would send a one-timer past Lancer goalie Lucas Szyszka to give Waterloo the 1-0 lead.

The Black Hawks would not be done as forward Myles Hilman would cash in off a Lancer turnover to stretch Waterloo's lead going into the locker room at 2-0.

The third period would have Waterloo picking up where it left off in the second.

The scoring would start with forward Grady Deering who would take advantage of a Lancer turnover to give the 'Hawks a 3-0 advantage.

The Black Hawks were not done yet, as forward Teddy Townsend would capitalize on the rush after another Lancer turnover to help propel Waterloo past Omaha by the final score of 4-0.

The Lancers are back in action tomorrow night (12/16) at Liberty First Credit Union Arena against the Sioux City Musketeers. Puck drop is at 6:00 PM CST. You can catch the game on Mixlr or FloSports.
