LANCERS THRASH SIOUX FALLS IN A 6-2 VICTORY

Lancers Explode In The Second Period To Help Ascend Past Sioux Falls.

OMAHA, NE. - The Lancers took on the Sioux Falls Stampede Friday Night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena on Military Appreciation Night where the Lancers would look to respond from a loss to Sioux City last night (11/9).

The Lancers would come out firing in the first period of play as they would look sharp in the opening frame.

However, Sioux Falls would unfortunately look sharp themselves as they would draw first blood on the power-play with forward Micah Berger wristing one top corner to give Sioux Falls the early 1-0 advantage.

The Lancers would get a power-play opportunity themselves and they would score on it with forward Christian Kocsis who continues to be a steady force for Omaha would bury a rebound past Sioux Falls netminder Michael Chambre to tie it up at one apiece going into the second period of play.

The second period commenced, and it would be the Lancers' best period of the season.

The scoring would start with defenseman Noah Jones who would get his first career USHL goal to give the Lancers a 2-1 lead.

Sioux Falls would answer right back with a 2-on-1 goal with forward J.J. Wiebusch tying it back up at two goals apiece.

The Lancers would answer just 11 seconds later with an odd-man rush of their own as forward Gabe Kenne would receive a beautiful feed from David Deputy to give Omaha the lead right back at 3-2.

The Lancers were not done as forward Will Elger would get in on the action as Elger buried a rebound to extend Omaha's lead at 4-2.

The Lancers had Sioux Falls reeling late in the second, as Omaha would grab one more in the middle frame with Ethan Fredericks finding the back of the cage to give Omaha a commanding lead at 5-2 heading into the third period of play.

The third period would have the Lancers impress once again as forward Aleksi Kivioja would wrist one from the high slot to stretch Omaha's lead even further at 6-2.

The Lancers would continue to put Sioux Falls on its heels before time would expire to give Omaha the dominating 6-2 victory.

The Lancers are back in action tomorrow night (11/11) against the very same Sioux Falls club at Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Puck drop is at 6:05 PM CST. You can catch the game on Mixlr or FloSports.
