LANCERS FALL IN ANOTHER OVERTIME HEARTBREAKER

A Pair Of Brasen Boser Goals Ascend Fargo Past Omaha.

OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers had opened their first of two home meetings this weekend with the undefeated Fargo Force on Friday night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.

The first period had the undefeated Fargo Force control most of the opening frame however, Lancer netminder Mikhail Yegorov stood tall stopping all shots from the Force.

The Lancers would draw first blood in the opening period of play in the most auspicious way, as defenseman Chase Cheslock would loft a puck from the red line before Fargo goalie Anton Castro was unable to corral the bouncing puck before the frozen disc found the back of the cage to give Omaha the 1-0 lead heading into the second period of play.

The second period would have a very similar result, as Fargo would once again control most of the middle frame.

Fargo would eventually cash in on the powerplay as forward Michael LaStarza would wrist one in the back of the cage, as Yegorov would get apiece of the shot, but not enough of it as it would be tied at one.

The Lancers would respond however, as forward Nick Pierre would receive a beautiful pass from  forward David Deputy as Castro would have no chance with the Lancers back on top 2-1 heading into the third period of play.

The third period would have more scoring action as the scoring would start with Fargo defenseman Brasen Boser who would cash in on a rebound to tie it up at two apiece.

Fargo would not be done as shortly thereafter forward Zam Plante would send a perfect wrist shot over the glove of Yegorov to put Fargo in front for the first time at 3-2.

However, the Lancers would respond right back with Aleksi Kivioja putting it past a sprawling Anton Castro to tie it right back up a 3 apiece.

For the second game in a row the Lancers would go to overtime however, Fargo would put the game away with Brasen Boser putting home his second of the season and second of the game to give Fargo the 4-3 overtime win to remain undefeated.

The Lancers are back in action tomorrow night against the very same Fargo team. Puck drop is at 6:05 PM CST. You can catch the game on Mixlr or FloSports.
