BROBERG TO WATERLOO, LANCERS ACQUIRE FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS

Omaha Lancers Complete Transaction With The Waterloo Black Hawks.

OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League have announced the departure of Defenseman, Marcus Broberg to the Waterloo Black Hawks, in exchange for future considerations.

Marcus Broberg (2003) of Orebro, Sweden was drafted 59th overall in the fourth round of phase II of the 2022 USHL Draft by the Omaha Lancers.

Being his first season playing hockey in North America, Broberg still skated in 15 of the first 16 regular season games for the Lancers, acquiring six points in the process (2G-4A-6P). Which, for the majority of the regular season, Broberg was the top point-getting defenseman, before being past by teammate Nate Benoit in the recent weeks who currently sits at eight points (2G-6A-8P).

In his year prior to the USHL, the University of Nebraska-Omaha commit played in the J20 Nationell in Sweden for both the AIK J20 and Malmo Redhawks J20 squads where he averaged just over a point every third game. With that, Broberg notched 19 points in the form of one goal and 18 assists over the course of the 48 game season.

The 5-foot-11, 175 pound defenseman will be set to make his debut with the Black Hawks this weekend as they host the Sioux Falls Stampede on both Friday (12/2) and Saturday night (12/3) at Young Arena.

The Omaha Lancers would like the thank Marcus for all his effort and hard work this season and wish him the best with the remainder of the 2022-23 season and in his future at the University of Nebraska-Omaha!
