TANNER ROWE CHANGES COMMITMENT TO UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN

Rowe Trades UMASS Maroon & White For University Of Michigan Maize & Blue.

OMAHA, NE. – The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are proud to announce that Forward, Tanner Rowe has changed his college commitment to play Division One College Hockey from the University of Massachusetts to his home state, University of Michigan.

Rowe was the 176th pick in the 12th round of the 2021 Phase II USHL Draft after spending a season with the Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). In Maryland he played in 38 games during the 2020-21 season, picking up 6G-3A-9P, helping the Black Bears break into the Robertson Cup Playoffs. In post season play, Rowe averaged a point every other game with 0G-4A-4P in eight playoff game appearances as Maryland made it to the 2021 Eastern Division Final.

Prior to his time in Maryland, Rowe spent three seasons with his hometown high school team, Calumet High, in Calumet, Michigan. All three seasons with his high school squad, Rowe averaged over a point per game in 76 total games played, getting 47G-67A-114P. With stellar regular season statistics, his high school playoff statistic averages were even more impressive with having 5G-7A-12P in just five total playoff games.

In the 2021-22 season with the Omaha Lancers, Rowe skated in 56 out of 62 regular season games, establishing himself as a speedy centerman. With tacking up 4G-7A-11P in his 56 regular season appearances, he assisted in propelling the Lancers to a Clark Cup Playoff spot for the 28th time in the team's 35-year existence. Which included home-ice advantage for the opening round, as Omaha knocked off the Fargo Force in a 2-0 best-of-three series sweep. Giving the Lancers their first playoff series win in over a decade.

Through the first month of the 2022-23 season with the Lancers, Rowe has accumulated one goal (1G-0A-1P), coming during the Lancers' home opener against the Tri-City Storm on October 7th, 2022, which helped earn the Lancers a point as they fell 4-3 in overtime.

The Lancers organization is excited to see Rowe assist in leading the Lancers to another successful season and thrive both athletically and academically in the Maize and Blue!
