LANCERS SPLIT THE WEEKEND IN 4-1 LOSS

Cameron Korpi Backstops Omaha.

Omaha, NE. - The Lancers concluded their back-to-back home game stand with the Tri-City Storm Saturday night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena. The Lancers came off a 4-1 win against the same Tri-City club Friday night, and would look to pick up where they left off tonight.

The first period came, and the Lancers badly outplayed Tri-City throughout. However, two rather soft Tri-City tallies ended up being the difference after the first period of play.

The scoring would start from Tri-City defenseman Charlie Kinsman, who took what looked to be a harmless wrist shot from the blue line, but would trickle through Lancer goaltender Michael Hrabal to make it 1-0 Tri-City.

Kinsman and the Storm were not done, as Kinsman would once again find the back of the net, with an odd angle shot from the top of the faceoff circle to stretch Tri-City's lead at 2-0.

The Lancers would not come out of the first period totally empty handed as their powerplay would strike once again, this time forward Vincent Salice would cash in on a rebound to cut the deficit in half at 2-1.

However, Tri-City's rather pesky Graham Gamache would cash in on a one-timer from the top of the faceoff circle to beat Hrabal over the blocker with just 10 seconds to go in the opening frame to end the first period with a confusing 3-1 Tri-City lead.

The second period would have the rolls reversed, as Tri-City would outplay Omaha.

Lancer goaltender Kevin Pasche would come in relief of Michael Hrabal to begin the second period, and Pasche continued to be stellar stopping the vast majority of Tri-City scoring chances.

Tri-City however, would get a powerplay opportunity later in the period, and the Storm would score on it. Former Lancer Daimon Gardner would shoot missile past the glove of Pasche to extend Tri-City's lead at 4-1 going into the third period of play.

The third and final frame came and went with no real action to show for it, as Tri-City would simply kill clock throughout and get ready for their next game tomorrow against Sioux Falls.

The Lancers would fall to Tri-City by the final score of 4-1.

The Lancers are back in action next Friday night (2/10) at Liberty First Credit Union Arena to take on the for the first time since January 18, 2020 the Chicago Steel. Puck drop is at 7:05 CST. You can catch the game on Mixlr or FloSports.
